Fiber Optic Camera Inspection
See inside without opening up. Our flexible fiber optic cameras allow us to visually inspect wall cavities, ceiling spaces, and plumbing systems through access holes as small as 1/4 inch, providing direct visual evidence of leak sources.
How Fiber Optic Inspection Works
Our fiber optic camera systems consist of a tiny camera mounted on a flexible probe that can be inserted into small openings. The camera transmits real-time video to a monitor, allowing us to see inside walls, ceilings, and pipes without major demolition.
The camera probe is flexible enough to navigate around corners and through tight spaces, while built-in LED lighting illuminates dark cavities. We can record video and capture still images for documentation.
Camera Capabilities
- High-definition video and still capture
- Built-in LED illumination
- Flexible probes from 6mm to 12mm diameter
- Articulating camera heads for better angles
- Waterproof for pipe inspections

Benefits of Fiber Optic Inspection
Direct Visual Evidence
Unlike thermal imaging which shows temperature differences, fiber optic cameras show you exactly what is happening inside walls and pipes.
- See actual water damage
- Identify leak sources visually
- Document conditions with photos/video
Minimally Invasive
Access holes as small as 1/4 inch mean minimal damage to your property while still getting clear visual inspection.
- Small access holes only
- Easy to patch afterward
- Less repair cost
Complete Documentation
HD video recording and still images provide undeniable evidence for insurance claims, strata disputes, or contractor verification.
- Video recording
- High-res photos
- Clear documentation
When Fiber Optic Inspection Is Needed
Fiber optic cameras are often used after thermal imaging has identified an area of concern, to provide visual confirmation of the findings.
Confirming Thermal Findings
When thermal imaging indicates moisture behind a wall or ceiling, fiber optic inspection can visually confirm the presence of water and identify its source.
Drain Line Inspections
Camera inspection of drain pipes can identify cracks, blockages, root intrusion, or other issues causing backup or leaks.
Post-Repair Verification
After repairs are completed, visual inspection confirms the issue has been resolved without removing new finishes.
Insurance Documentation
Video evidence of damage inside walls or pipes provides compelling documentation for insurance claims.
Multi-Unit Investigations
In condos or apartments, visual evidence can help determine which unit is the source of a leak.
Pre-Purchase Inspections
Visual inspection of hidden spaces can reveal issues not visible during standard home inspections.
Our Inspection Process
Location Selection
We identify optimal access points based on other detection findings
Access Creation
A small hole is created if existing access is not available
Visual Inspection
Camera probe inserted and systematically moved through the space
Documentation
Video and photos captured, findings explained in real-time
Drain & Pipe Camera Inspection
In addition to wall and ceiling inspections, we offer camera inspection of drain lines and plumbing pipes. Waterproof cameras can be inserted into pipes to identify blockages, cracks, root intrusion, and other issues.
Common Findings Include:
- Cracked or broken pipes
- Root intrusion from trees
- Grease or debris buildup
- Pipe separation at joints
- Corrosion or deterioration
- Improper pipe installation
