Thermal Imaging Leak Detection
See what your eyes cannot. Our professional-grade infrared thermal cameras detect temperature differences caused by moisture, allowing us to find hidden leaks without cutting into your walls or ceilings.
How Thermal Imaging Detects Leaks
Thermal imaging cameras detect infrared radiation (heat) emitted by objects. When moisture is present in building materials, it changes the thermal properties of those materials, creating temperature differences that our cameras can detect.
Water causes evaporative cooling, making wet areas appear cooler than surrounding dry areas. This temperature difference, invisible to the naked eye, shows up clearly on our thermal images as distinct color patterns.
The Science Behind It
- Wet materials have different thermal conductivity than dry materials
- Evaporation causes cooling at moisture locations
- Temperature differences as small as 0.1 degrees C are detectable
- Moisture patterns reveal leak paths and sources
What We Can Detect
